EDITORIAL SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Submit Real Weddings, Elopements, and Styled Shoots

About Us:

At Junebug Weddings, we’re here to demystify the wedding planning process with inspiration, information, and resources. We publish editorial content to empower couples to create a celebration worthy of their unique love—inclusive of all genders, cultures, religions, and styles. Through this work, we also connect couples to talented vendors who can turn their visions into reality.

If you're interested in becoming a Junebug Weddings member, apply here. While Junebug members receive priority consideration for their editorial submissions, publication is not guaranteed as submissions are featured on our site based on merit alone.

What Can I Submit?

Our primary focus is to showcase real weddings and elopements. We do also feature some styled shoots. At this time, we are not accepting engagement sessions.

We aim to showcase nuptials that will inspire a diverse audience with a range of genders, races, religions, and sexualities. When we review editorial submissions we are looking for the following:

  • Unique aspects. Avoid submitting something we’ve already featured or you’ve already seen on our blog
  • Unique styles. Show us what makes this couple special. Unique ceremonies, over-the-top floral installations, daring wedding fashion, or a fall color palette at a beach elopement.
  • Details, details, details. Clean shots with details that couples can emulate. Think dessert tables, floral arrangements, table settings, etc
  • A storyline in photos. The photos should tell us the story of the couple’s wedding day from getting ready to their final exit. In the case of styled shoots, we are still looking for ceremony shots and a whole couple to be depicted
  • Impressive photography. Images should be properly lit, consistently processed, in focus, and meet the quality standard of other images on our site

Weddings should be a safe place for all people. As such, we do not accept submissions highlighting venues that were previously used for the ownership of slaves. This includes plantations and settings with similarly violent histories.

Ready To Submit?

Follow the instructions below to prep your real weddings, elopements, and styled shoots for editorial consideration. Then, submit them here.

How Many Photos Should I Submit?

Submit 100-150 photos in a range of vertical and horizontal aspects. Any submissions with more than 150 photos will be removed from editorial consideration.

What Specs Should The Photos Be?

All images must be .jpgs sized at least 3200px WIDE, sRGB color space, with no watermarks. Please send only individual images. Won’t accept diptychs or collages.

Here are some helpful instructions for resizing your images in Lightroom: https://photographylife.com/how-to-properly-resize-images-in-lightroom

Do You Accept Video Submissions?

We don’t accept stand-alone video submissions for the blog. However, we do love to have wedding films included in our features.

To submit a wedding with a video, please include both a link to a photo gallery and a Vimeo/YouTube link to the film in your submission.

Can I Submit To Another Blog or Publication?

We ask that you give us exclusive rights to your content for at least 90 days.

Can I Post This Submission To My Own Blog?

We encourage all wedding vendors to share their work on their blogs. Posting images to your business’ blog does not hurt your chances of publication, nor does it violate our exclusivity policy.

How Long Should I Expect To Wait Before Hearing Back About My Submission?

We receive a large volume of submissions each week. As a result, we cannot personally reply to them all. We’ll get back to you within 30 business days if your submission will fit into our editorial schedule.

Once a submission is accepted, we must receive all the necessary materials within three months. If we don’t, we can’t move forward with the feature. If you have not heard from our Editorial team with a publication date for your feature, we have not received all materials.
